Thin-layer chromatography (TLC) of hydrolysis products obtained from various amylaceous substrates with purified α-amylase. The enzyme (1.0 U) was incubated with 0.5 % (w/v) of the following substrates at 37 °C for 24 h: starch, amylose, amylopectin, glycogen, maltose (G2), maltotriose (G3), maltotetraose (G4), maltopentaose (G5), and maltohexaose (G6).
