DNA fragmentation by PDT-induced apoptosis of methyl pheophorbide A for U937 cells (A) and SK-HEP-1 cells (B). The cells were seeded at a density of 1 × 106 cells/ml in 6 well plate. After incubation for 4 h, the methyl pheophorbide A, ADCL, and DMSO were added to each well. After inducing photodynamic activity, cells were harvested. DNA fragmentation was confirmed by extracting DNA from harvested cells and electrophoresis on 1.6% agarose gel containing ethidium bromide (L: Light, D: Dark)
