Comparison of HeLa cell viability using non-formylated methionine-conjugated initiator tRNA (Met-tRNAi) and formylated Met-tRNAi (fMet-tRNAi). A Effect of E. coli fMet-tRNAi/human methionyl tRNA synthetase (HMRS) on HeLa cell viability. Cell survival was measured using cell assays at specific concentrations (1, 5, and 10 nM) of E. coli Met-tRNAi/HMRS (violet bars). B Comparison between the effects of formylated L-methionine (L-Met) conditions based on specific concentrations (1, 5, and 10 nM) of E. coli tRNAi. The cell viability analysis was conducted on HeLa cells using E. coli Met-tRNAi charged with E. coli methionyl tRNA synthetase (blue line) and E. coli fMet-tRNAi charged with HMRS (violet line). The effect of formylated L-Met on HeLa cell viability was determined via quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction analysis of enhanced green fluorescent protein mRNA expression. HeLa cells were treated with (red line) or without L-Met (orange line) for 24 h. Cell viability was determined using CCK8 assays and calculated relative to that of the control HeLa cells (red line). Data are presented as the mean ± SEM of three independent experiments
