Sulforaphane increased nuclear Nrf2 and cytoplasmic HO-1 levels in both p53-WT and p53-KO cells. HCT116 cells were treated with sulforaphane for 8 h. The nuclear and cytoplasmic fractions were prepared from the harvested cells. The protein levels of nuclear Nrf2 (a) and cytoplasmic HO-1 (b) were examined in both p53-WT and p53-KO cells by western blot analysis. Upper, a representative western blot image; lower, quantified data. Values represent mean ± SEM (N = 3 for a; N = 6 for b).
