Effects of high-iron feeding on serum glucose and insulin levels of rats. Five-week-old, male, SD rats were fed one of six diets, which varied only in their iron and copper content for 5 weeks ad libitum. Serum glucose (A), insulin (B), and HOMA-IR levels (C). The results are presented as means ± SDs; n = 10 per individual group. Data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA with Tukey’s post hoc test for further comparisons.
